Hugh "Hewie" Stewart is the Champion of the Mystix 8 Ball B Class Tournament

Hugh "Hewie" Stewart won the Mystix 8 Ball "B" Class Tournament held on August 7th & 8th after defeating Lincoln "Mandrake" Clarke in the finals. The two day tournament drew thirty eight entries and offered up cash prizes and trophies from 1st place to 4th place and also offered a best female prize.

The first day saw regular entries from the "B" Class bracket along with a few new entries from Mystics and Montego Bay. The talk of the tournament was however the skill of one of the Mobay Players, Shavaun Edwards , who is said to be a protégé of Montego Bay's Noel "SchoolBoy" Blagrove. Shavaun had a steady ride into semi finals until he met an already questionable Stewart and lost 3-0. Shavaun went on to play Fernando Ruiz for the 3rd Place spot and narrowly defeated Ruiz in the final game. Ruiz met Lincoln Clarke in the semis, in a battle of two of the top Mystic players. Clarke proved to be too much however for Ruiz however, and went on to cement his place in the finals.

The final match up was raised to a best of seven set and was quickly dominated by Stewart but after a couple falters Clarke managed to tie up the score three all. In the final decider Clarke was well on his way to becoming the Champion but missed his final ball before the 8 leaving Stewart with an open table to claim the title.

Stewart walked away with $25,000 plus trophy and was finally inducted into the "A" class group. Clarke won $12,500 plus trophy, Shavaun received $5000 and Ruiz $2500. The best female trophy was awarded to Billiards Jamaica's own Nicky Lawrence.
