Rohan Mc'Donald Claims Auto Craze "B" Class 8 Ball Title

Mystix Sports Bar's Rohan "Freddy" McDonald gained sweet revenge when he defeated old rival Francis Grizzle from Peppers Nightclub 3-0 in the Auto Craze Sports Bar & Mr. Auto World "B" Class 8 Ball Pool Tournament on Sun. March 14th.

A total of 64 entries kicked off the first day of activities at the 12 Dunrobin Avenue Kingston 10 venue. This was the 3rd "B" Class tournament held at Auto Craze after a 2 year absence from the tournament scene with the last being held on December 2007. Ironically it was a member of the same popular Mystix Sports Bar, Everett Austin, who had won the tournament in 2007. Austin defeated Marlon "Ants" Lynch from Portmore's Cue Plus to take that B class title but was just receiving his trophy in a small presentation on the second night of the tournament.

Rounding off the the quarter finals were Lincoln "Mandrake" Clarke and Rohan McDonald from Mystix Sports Bar, Orville Henry & Jamar "Fibre" Johnson from Upper Level Mandeville, Andre Meek & Gibby from Hot Shots Pool Bar, Andeous Gillings from the JDF and Francis Grizzle from  Peppers Night Club.

McDonald faced Andeous Gillings in the 1st semi-final ending 3-1, a game that saw a bit of controversy as Gillings, pumped from winning the first match in the set, was down to 8 ball in the second to make it 2nil only to be denied by the referees decision of a disputed foul. Leslie Puranda, the  tournament director ordered a replay, however, Gillings failed to step up to the task this time sending McDonald to the finals to face Francis Grizzle.

Grizzle had to get pass Andre Meek in order to take the first finalist spot and won by a close 3-2 margin. Meek was then sent to play for 3rd place's $5000 cash or 4th place's $2500 against Andeous Gillings but lost 3-2, further calling on his friendly nickname among his peers, "4th place". Francis Grizzle collected $10,000 plus trophy and the Champion Rohan McDonald walked away with $25,000 plus Trophy.

The presentation was made by Craig McFarlane Managing Director of Mr. Auto World, Dennis Archer Owner of Auto Craze Sports Bar, Julene Dixon & Lisa-Ann. Mr Archer thanked the many supporters and participants of the tournament and made promise of future events to come
